The immune system's interactions with the digestive system are very simmilar to those between the skin and digestive. The immune system protects the digestive system like the skin, because the skin is the first line of defense for the immune system. So, the immune system helps protect the digestive system form viruses, bacteria, and fungi. That is helpful so that the digestive system can work and do its job with out having to worry about a virus coming and not being able to digest food because they would be fighting the virus.
The immune and digestive also interact by the digestive giving nutrients. The immune gets glucose to go through cell respiration. With the cell respiration, the white blood cells can keep doing their jobs and help fight any pathogen in the body from hurting a system, digestive or other. The other nutrients, like protien, fat, and carbohydrates help by making new cell parts in case a cell gets damaged, or if a cell has died. But, that also goes into cell division, which is more a connection with cells and heredity, but is still relevant with the immune system.
