The Immune system and the Respiratory system
As mentined in the immune-immune article, there are lymph nodes stored throughout the body. Some of these are in the neck and throught. Two lymph nodes found in that general area are the tonsils and the adenoids. The jobs of the tonsils and adenoids are to trap the harmful pathogens that you swallow and/or breathe in. If the adenoids try to stop too many bacteria, then they could get infected themselves. sometimes the tonsils get infected at the same time. Then the tonsils and adnoids swell. If this happens, it could restrict the person't breathing. Usually, after this, the person goes to the doctor and gets medicine and the swelling goes down. Sometimes, though, the person just keeps getting infected there.
If the person keeps having trouble breathing because their adenoids and tonsils keep getting infected, then they will probably have them sugically removed. Sometimes, if the person is having problems with both their adenoids and their tonsils, then both will be removed at the same time.

I found this info at this good website:

I recommend putting it on the link page.
