dddddddddddddddddddddddNervous System - Digestive System!

The Nervous system interacts with the digestive system because the nervous system controls when we eat and how we eat. When you feel that rumble in your stomach you know you are hungry! Your brain realizes when you need more energy and decides that its time to eat. When you eat it is your brain that is controlling all of your actions like- picking up your sandwich, chewing on the bread, and swallowing. The nervous sytem also controls how your body breaks down food. The acid levels in your stomach and intestines and even the acids themselves are controlled by the brain. Also the smooth muscles in our intestines and stomach are controlled by the brain too. Without this connection we would die very soon because our bodies couldn't get energy. Below I found a song that perfectly describes our thoughts when we have realized we are indeed- HUNGRY!
